Stainless Triangular Wire 3 × 5 mm
Deep-section stainless triangular wire: 3 mm face, 5 mm height. The extra height buys bending stiffness on coarse decks without widening the slot.
Stainless Triangular Wire 3 × 5 mm
Deep-section stainless triangular wire: 3 mm face, 5 mm height. The extra height buys bending stiffness on coarse decks without widening the slot.

On a coarse screen the wire is a structural member, not just a slot edge. Bed depth, impact and vibration load every span between support rods, and a section that is too light bows: the slot opens where it should not and closes where it must.
3 × 5 is a deliberate answer to that. The face stays at 3 mm, so the slot still cuts where the product needs it. The height goes to 5 mm, and bending stiffness rises with roughly the cube of height — a 5 mm deep section holds its line under a load that would visibly deflect a 2.6 mm equilateral wire of the same face width. You buy stiffness by growing the section downward, where it does not touch the cut point.
The second reason for a heavy section is wear. Coarse duty is abrasive duty: every particle crossing the deck takes a little wire with it. A deep section buys years of that, and when the top face finally rounds over the slot changes gradually — you can plan the change-out instead of reacting to a drift in product size.
What to state on the drawing
Face width, height, included angle and tip radius. On heavy sections the tip radius does more work than on fine wire: a fully sharp tip cuts the cleanest slot but chips under impact, so coarse decks usually run 0.2–0.3 mm as a compromise. The angle trades slot capacity against side support — a narrower angle reaches deeper for the same face width, which is how a 3 mm face can sit behind a slot that would otherwise be too coarse for it.
